Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display has been widely used in portable electronic devices such as mobile phone and PDA, which are supplied power by battery for advantage of low power, low driving-voltage, non-emissive and portable. As the interface circuit between MPU of mobile phone and TFT-LCD panel, TFT-LCD driving and controlling IC controls and drives the color display of the TFT-LCD panel and its performance influences the display quality and effect. The research content of the dissertation is a part of National "863" Program—"Research on TFT-LCD Driving and Controlling IC for Colored Display Mobile Phone—Longtium T1", which is carried out by NWPU Aviation Micro-Electronics Center. The main contributions in this dissertation are given below:1) Based on the display and driving principles of TFT-LCD, the architecture of driving circuit (including gamma correction and source driver) of Longtium T1 is designed and system design is finished.2) The behavioral model of driving circuit is built and simulated by the Verilog-A language. It proves the system design is correct.3) The load and driving ability of TFT-LCD panel are analyzed and the two-stage driving buffers architecture is designed for Longtium T1. It has many advantages in the power consumption, die area and driving ability.4) The circuits of gamma correction and source driver are designed. Through the measurement of tape-out, the error of 64-grayscale voltage of gamma correction is ±10mV and settling time of driving voltage of source driver is less than 30us.The research of dissertation has contributed to the design of TFT-LCD Driving and Controlling IC for Colored Display Mobile Phone—Longtium T1.
