The grid resource has characteristics such as distribution, heterogeneous, dynamic and autonomous, so it is confronted with many challenges in grid application and generalization. The grid resource monitor system, as one of the grid basic components, provides important data support for upper applications, therefore, the research of it has important theory and application value.Throughout analyzing and researching the grid resource monitor systems in the current time, the defects are printed out. In the light of "pragmatic give first place to, apply design philosophy in the lead ", we design and realize a grid resource monitor system, which has rich content and is flexible to expand. Also, this paper has a research in the applications based on the system; an algorithm was presented for job scheduling in campus computation grid.The main content concretely as follows:1. Throughout analyzing and researching several representative and influential grid monitor architectures based on GMA, it designs a grid monitor system, according to the real need of campus computation grid. Its main content includes researches of methods of resource information collection, automatic information gather service, search service and so on.2. Deploy this system in the campus computation grid. It mainly provides monitor services such as mainframe information service, job information service, application information service and user information service at present.3. Analyze data resource from the grid monitor system and apply to application. Throughout analyzing the data provided by the grid resource monitor system, it puts forward a model, and deduces an algorithm of job fitting weight for evaluating resource weather or not fitting for jobs. Put this algorithm into practice in campus computation grid, and the result proves it is efficient.The system stated in this paper is carried out in our campus computation grid, and it has obtained a good result. In the meantime, as one important component in grid system, the constitution of resource monitor system is the prepare for next step work which includes grid malfunction processing and mistake detecting, grid performance analyzing and adjusting, job scheduling decision-making, audit and invade check...
