In today's pervasive world of needing information anytime and anywhere, the explosive Grid Computing environments have now been proven to be so significant that they are often referred to as being the world's single and most powerful computer solutions. It has been realized that with the many benefits of Grid Computing , Yet, for cooperative resource sharing and problem-solving, many challenging problems anticipate solving in such a wide-area distributed and substantially heterogeneous computing environment as Grid, one of which is how to guarantee the high availability of Grid in circumstances with frequent resource failure.The research in this thesis focused on the grid service monitoring system, which is sub mental for the Grid. It analyzed the particularity and necessary of the monitoring for resource of service Grid and some key technologies. This paper describes our own design and implementation of the Grid resource monitoring system-GridEye. GridEye is based on GMA, adopts distributed framework, which can monitor and control heterogeneous resources distributed in the wide area network, and provides information to users and high-level application. The implementation of the GridEye system is service-oriented and modular, so it is flexible, manageable, scalable, high available and so on. This system has already been deployed and is running in China National Grid System Software, supporting information access for high-level application.
