Grid resources monitoring is the one of the important problem of grid. In grid computing environment, there are all kinds of dynamic resources available. They are distributed, heterogeneous and could join or leave different virtual organizations dynamically. So how to find grid resources, how to monitor the status of grid resources, how to take advantage of them by grid application is the problem which must be solved.This paper analyzes and researches the grid resource monitoring, as well as the current status and the existing problems, and detailed analysis of grid resource monitoring and agent technology, then, this dissertation has brought forward and designed a new method to monitor grid resources, in which agent technology and LDAP technology are introduced considering the advantage of the two technologies, designed virtual grid environment and many grid nodes. In addition, genetic algorithm, as one of the most influencing evolutional algorithms simulating.Multi-agent has been developed via IBM software Aglet, and then applied to grid resource monitoring system, thus to actualize GRMA. The resource of mainframe is accessed directly by agent, so that the data transmission and communicational delay can be reduced; hence the service quality is improved effectively. LDAP have been designed and introduced to grid resource monitoring system. The application of LDAP can provide securities, and obtain monitoring results rapidly. When it accesses remote domains, it can achieve monitoring data by asynchronous remote copy or proxy.
