The Printed Circuit Board (PCB) has a significant status to modern-day electrical equipment, and the inspection of the PCB defection is an important way to improve the quality and reduce the cost of the PCB. In a series of methods of inspecting the PCB defection, Automatic Optic Inspection (AOI) has a particular advantage. The high precision AOI measurement equipment that based on Image processing has a large market foreground.Virtual Instrument is a fashionable technology at the present time. National Instruments is the representation of Virtual Instrument. This article applies Virtual Instrument technology to PCB vision inspection. We constitute the hardware part of an AOI system with the Virtual Instrument products of NI Corporation, and then we finish designing the software of the PCB inspection system with Lab VIEW.Accord to PCB Image specialty we choose appropriate Image pretreatment method and get a good processing result. In order to identify the disfiguration, we colligate advantages of some other Image identify methods and develop a way belonged to this thesis. We call it character identify base on area division of Image.Ultimately, we accomplish to design the software of the system with LabVIEW and IMAQ-VISION. The experimentation indicates that the checking result is satisfactory.
