Digital Beam Forming (DBF) technique has been widely researched in modern radar and communication systems. This thesis is focused on the study of DBF algorithms for XX radar. The main work includes:1. The program of digital beamforming (DBF) algorithm based on linearly constrained minimum variance (LCMV) is optimized to meet the requirement of real time processing. The computational load is reduced to 40.4% after optimization. The software program is modified according to the requirement of system measurement. The measurement of the DBF system is accomplished. The results show the agreement to that of simulation.2. The DBF algorithm based on LCMV is also implemented on the hardware plat form of ADSP TS201s. The debugging of the software and hardware are accomplished. The test results show the correction of the software.3. A new subarray parallel LCMV algorithm is presented. With partitioning the receiver data and weight, and computing weight subvectors in parallel, the algorithm overcomes the bottleneck in the computational load and vast data transmission of large array. Low sidelobe of the beam is obtained with Tschebyscheff coefficients. The theory deviation, compute complexity analyzing, and simulation of the algorithm are accomplished. Simulation results prove that the proposed SLCMV method is correct and requires less computational load than that of other methods.
