In the modern war, the attention of anti-interference technology has been seriously noticed because of the much more complicated electromagnetic environment. It's the appearance of Adaptive Digital Beam Forming (ADBF) technology that has greatly improved the anti-interference capabilities. In order to put this technology to practice, this thesis makes a deeply study on digital beam forming based on the line array. At first, the thesis introduces the basic conception of DBF, and describes several advantages of the technology with the computer simulation. Several usual optimal criterions have been introduced and the structures used to implement various adaptive algorithms have been analyzed after the review of development of adaptive signal processing. Side lobe canceling which uses least squares criterion to create function has been selected at last. When it refers to the solution optimal weights, it is found that QRD_RLS algorithm has many disadvantages, and then recurrent least square algorithm based on inverse QR decomposition has been deduced and the simulations also have been showed. And then the hardware and software design are specified by many charts. In hardware description part, the selection and usage of chips are listed; especially the difference between similar chips is emphasized. La software part, starting with the function analysis, the paper describes the implement of the whole system and every block. With the practical experiences, problems in the design and debugging process are summarized, and solutions are also provided. Finally, some proposals to improving the system performance are suggested.
