Transmit Multi-Digital Beamforming (MDBF) technique has been widely investigated in radar and communication systems as one of the most important parts in array signal processing. Considering the specific project, the design of transmit MDBF system and its hardware implementation are mainly presented in this thesis. The main work includes:1. The synchronization of Digital Up Converter (DUC) technique is analyzed based on transmit DBF system and implemented on hardware. The hardware of transmit DBF is consisted of FPGA, DSP and DUC chips and designed to implement digital transmit array of 16 channels and 6 beams. Test results show that both frequency spectrum and antenna beam pattern are of great consistency.2. The RLS algorithm for adaptive beam forming technique is researched and implemented in FPGA. By ascertaining the dynamic range, fixed-length of 16 bit point data format is presented to implement RLS algorithm on hardware. Furthermore, the conflict of logical resource, accuracy of operation, dynamic range and computing speed can be resolved effectively. Test results show that RLS algorithm can still achieve great convergence and precision in FPGA.
