With the vigorous development of computer and other technologies in the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) field, especially some CFD business software appeared, CFD technology becomes reality. It plays an important role in the industry field and applies from the simulation of outside fluid field of planes, rockets, ship, buildings, car and so on and inside reactor of chemical reactors, engines, boilers and so on to process of prints spray-ink and human blood flowing in body. In this paper, we describe the design and application of CFD software which is especially adapted to flowing process of metallurgical fluid and provide an example of six flowing steel continuous casting tundish.Through analyzing of the demand of metallurgical industry, we obtain the design and apply rules of CFD system. We choose the VTK (The Visualization Toolkits) as the main tool, which has many merits, such as good structure, easy expand, open source code, and can meet the demand of CFD system.In this paper, we discuss the pre-processing, solver and post-processing modules. In pre-processing modul, we establish the geometrical models of problem and meshing with some parameters. We design an easy meshing algorithm with STL data and using point radial method to decide whether the point is in the model. In solver module, we calculate with special parameters and use parameters' curve to track the calculational process. In post-processing modul, we implement 3D's nephogram, vector field, contours, as well as animation's visualization algorithm using VTKAccording to the application of shanghai baoshan Steel Inc., the CFD emulational system is featured powerful and saves resource for the company. At last the method can be suggested and consulted during the course of developing this kind of software.
