In an age that the press profession competes, meanwhile co_operates, a press group is supposed to handle an internal balance within the press field under the consideration to retain an priority, if it wants to win the initiative in today's China. Co_operation is to pursue an ecomnic way to share resources under the condition to combine different medium together, competiton is to establish one's mage by characteristically exploiting resources including common resources. Only with an acute balance between co_opertion and competition, could a press group be granted a fundamental competitive edge, and given a capacity to provide the public with varied culture products.The text deals with the topic of internal competition and co_operation in 3 parts in the light of the media ecology studies, and with the methods to compare and analyse different cases. In preface, a background, that an age of competition and co_operation is drawn in after 10 years operation for Chinese newspaper, is introduced. Chapter 1 is to deal with the topic of co_operation, the methods to share resources is produced by discussing the concept of news resource, resource_sharing, and describing the difference in resource_sharing between China and the foreign countries. Chapter 2 is to deal with the topic of competition , the way to operate a newspaper characteristically is produced by discussing the function and means of dissimilar operation.
