New Typical Reported Improvement And Innovation

The contemporary typical report proves to be experiencing a turning point amid its long process of development, as even the entire Chinese media industry does so far. During its 60 years' existence and development in China, the typical report, as a kind of reporting mode unique to socialism, exerts some representative demonstrative and guiding force, enhances social uprightness, promotes human civilization, and brings about favorable effects in all periods of socialist modernization by reporting typical personages or events. After the reform and opening-up, however, people's moral values and acceptance as well as the social context underwent enormous changes with the gradual development of Chinese society. The typical report, a positive reporting mode with characteristic of China, is facing many challenges or even a plight of existence and development. How can the typical report acquire powerful vitality? How can the typical personages strike the mass and inspire them? How can the typical events exert the favorable demonstrative and guiding force? The only way out is to keep apace of the time, to improve and to create, which requires us to inherit the eminent traditions of the typical report; moreover, we should summarize the experience and lessons, study its rule of development and analyze its present situation so as to make it more rationalistic and humane to contribute to the construction of a full-scale well-off and harmonious society. The main focus of the present research is the contemporary typical report. Here "contemporary" means the period in which the Chinese society develops in a full-scale way and with high speed after the reform and opening up especially the few years in the 21st century. Starting with the review of the history of the typical report, the present study investigated the plight of the contemporary typical report, analyzed its inherent weakness, and discussed the measures of improvement and creation through the case study. The present study explained the basic concepts and historic development of the typical report first, and then discussed its present situation through the analyses of the questionnaires of the subjects; next, it examined its new status through the case study, and finally, it surveyed and analyzed the trend of existence and development of the typical report.
