On The Bbc, Under The Theoretical Vision Of The Public Domain

As the first public service broadcasting organization, BBC has being known as impersonal, impartial and out of control of government and commercial force. The public sphere theory of Juergrn Habermas has been a academically focus in recent years. Habermas see mass media as a medium of public sphere, but they had been invaded by commercial and political force in late 20 century and become fictitious medium of public sphere.Can BBC be out of control of the English Government on earth? What does license fee mean to BBC? If it would endanger BBC's publicity ? Is BBC worthy of the name of impersonality and impartiality? This thesis pursue answers to these question.In line with this study objective, this thesis's main subject is the study on the relation of BBC and government and commercial force. With public sphere theory and institutional change theory as study tools, the thesis adopts the research method of reading up literature and ratiocination in the following manner:The introduction puts forward questions and the background of questions, specify the study object; give general introduction and review of relevant existing study results; explain the study method and mode used in this thesis; illuminate the originality and meaning of this study.
