Based On The Cidoc Crm Semantic Query System

The most important purpose of digital museum is antique information sharing and processing. The exhibition of digital archive is most important work. Traditional building of the digital museum's content is from HTML to XML, in despite of combination with either information database or metadata, most of them limit to the lay of data schema and syntax. Although the technology of XML resolves the problem that HTML brings of management of data, exhibition and query, in the special domain of digital museum (here is Bei-Hong Xu's museum), computer haven't reacted on the description and application of domain knowledge completely. After the appearance of Semantic Web, bring forward the perspective of the combination artificial intelligence network with human world. At the same time, the CIDOC CRM passes through nearly ten years' development, giving birth to the rock-bottom ontology that aims at cultural heritage and can apply on the domain knowledge of museum. It belongs to the layer of ontology in the seven framework of Semantic Web and can integrate with the semantic description file such as RDF and OWL etc.This paper brings out rudiment architecture of knowledge building on the Bei-Hong Xu's museum query system, based on CIDOC CRM, the layer of ontology in the Semantic Web architecture and OWL, and works out an Bei-Hong Xu's digital museum architecture based on CIDOC CRM. It uses the OWL as the file format of information description to realize cultural heritage query system based on the semantic. At last, uses the framework of J2EE (Struts+Spring), protege the development tool of ontology editor and Jena the one of Semantic Web to prove the feasibility of this architecture.The main conclusion and progress made in this article, which are the works I am doing during the study for the M.S degree, are as follows:1. Analyse the system of query requirement, and confirm the classified manner about the painting information. To combine with CIDOC CRM standard, build semantic structure of domain knowledge and finish metadata design on the domain ontology model.2, Study overseas data about semantic query system of the cultural domain, and design system framework according actual requirement.
