At present what telecommunication networks is facing is the integration of voice network and data network, which is so called NGN. Integration is a trend, but it needs time to be mature and even producible in scale. Concerning the general enterprises, how to control operational cost of these two networks turns into primary issue before NGN standard and product is coming out. Integration is the best solution for the time being. It not only results in cost saving, but also lays a solid ground for upgrading to NGN in future. Once Soft switch maturates, the only thing needs to be done is to replace the existing voice interconnection equipments with relevant NGN equipments, which greatly cuts down repeated investment.Most enterprises have been convinced of the benefit brought by integration of voice network and data network. But up to now there is more discussion about the issue than any systematical or complete solution. Aiming at reconstruction of new and existing networks in various relevant projects, I have summarized a suit of relatively complete solution, which has been implemented successfully in Bayer China project. It again demonstrates the feasibility of integration.The key technique deployed in integration is soft switch. Voice signal is packed and transmitted in package-switching network by H.323 and SIP agreement. Before emergence of telecommunication soft switch, the internal soft switch platform still needs to be connected to the PSTN via SIP-PSTN signaling. Port to port QoS guarantee can be realized by separating individual VLAN, implementing DiffServ in the whole network, combined with token bucket and leaky bucket arithmetic. Siemens IPDA will provide a transitional solution for those enterprises which already possess voice network but dispersive in physical structure. Voice switch device is another key to carry voice on the data network. Hipath 4000 system of Siemens, selected by Bayer network reconstruction project, providing traditional matrix-switching and soft switch and holding extend port to support NGN platform, is a fairly excellent choice for integration.
