The Design, Based On The Three-tier Structure Of The Teaching Resource Library System

The development of information technology and computer network has been contributing a lot to the administration system in the institutes of higher learning. With the rapid progress of Chinese economy and the global economy, further reform of higher education is under way and higher standards of education are proposed for the modernization and informationization of administration in universities and colleges. In the 21^st century, many universities have been giving priority to the establishment of"digital campus"to sharpen their competitive edges. The"digital campus"is a very important part in the informationization of national education, and it does work to improve efficiency. It offers the most powerful and reliable data for the decision-making in higher education.The Learning Resource Center system is part of the"digital campus"program. Most traditional information systems owned by many universities can only satisfy the basic requirements. However, the latest development in teaching administration such as the launching of the credit system calls for an advanced information system.Under the circumstances, the modern education technology center of Southwestern Universities of Finance and Economy has developed the new learning resource center system. It has been put into use so far. The author, as one of the major designer, elaborates on the developing process and major techniques employed in the system.
