This paper particularly dissertates the design process and method of a 300kW linear modulator. It studies of linear modulator's average-voltage circuit and spring circuit when linear modulator adopts series-wound SCR(Silicon Controlled Rectifier) as switch tube, and linear modulator adopts flyback charging technic for satisfying radar transmitter technic guideline. It introduces linear modulator's inverse peak circuit for reducing the infection of negative mismatch to load, and damp circuit for improving the trailing edge of pulse transformer's exporting pulse wave shape, and all kinds of over-current, over- voltage protect circuits when linear modulator can not work in gear. It analyses SCR(Silicon Controlled Rectifier)'s heat conduction approach and scattering heat method. At last it presents the modulator's designing layout and wave shape when modulator works in gear.
