Today, as large volume customers have become the most important customer and income resources with the ever-growing competition in the telecommunication market, each ISP puts a high premium on enlarging and developing market on them. Also there has been a focus on how to improve the unique expert-level service for them in which MSTP has evoled to be the most mainstream technology.MSTP has such characteristics as flexibility and reliability, and it can realize the share of network resources between various large volume customers and simplification of maintenance and management; Therefore, it is the most excellent price performance solution. MSTP mainly transforms in the SDH mode and changes the mere TDM interface to various interfaces such as ATM, Voice and Ethernet. Its main function is to join Ethernet into MSTP. In recent two years, many equipment providers keep introducing new functionalities to satisfying the need of 2-layer switching, ATM and IP processing.The purpose of the project is to design a MSTP network scheme and to realise the composite accessing to local services and to exchange service data with other equipment in MAN. It meets the requirements of the service transmission for large volume customers and provides the ability to support data and multimedia services, also it can adapt itself to the service development by changing the interface modules. The project adopts the EVPLn networking scheme so that it can easily divert the large volume customer service to the new MSTP network, which can transmit the data service efficiently while retaining the old functions.In the first, MSTP-relating technology is introduced, which mainly includes its background, technical framework, advantages and features. In addition, its support on Ethernet and networking scheme is presented. Finally, according to the present situation of Jinan Guangdian Network, the firing bureau is taken as an example. It adopts the EVPLn networking scheme to realize one to multiple point EHTERNET for large volume customers, and introduces in great detail the network structure, facility choices and functions, facility configuration and management. In the practical applications, MSTP advantages and disadvantages are concluded.
