Entering the 21st century informatization tide sweeping the globe, with the Internet, as a representative of the digital communication technology application permeated all aspects of people's lives, the application of informatization across industries, communications services and broadband data service market demand is expanding constantly, for communication bandwidth requirements are rising. Meanwhile, our country has entered the "tri-networks integration " critical period, the policy of the country has made it clear that will speed up voice, the internet and video business integration work, is essentially telecommunication networks and cable TV networks business integration, this to the traditional radio and television networks operator's business network puts forward new requirements and higher requirements. Facing the new market environment and the business requirements, radio and television network operators need constructing a metro optical transmission network that can meet more business operation, and to meet the challenge of the market and opportunities。In numerous construction technology of metropolitan area network, based on SDH's MSTP technology gradually become the mainstream technology of the construction of metro optical transport network..In this paper, compares characteristics of some existing technology of metropolitan area network, analyzes the MSTP technology compared to other network technology advantages.Discusses the overall MSTP technology functional framework, basic principles, bearing Ethernet business related key agreement, and studies the MSTP technology to achieve Ethernet business forms and support of Ethernet business types. On the basis of the theory, the thesis combines practical work, from the business requirements,engineering schem,engineering equipment selection aspects, to design kaifeng radio and television networks company's MSTP optical transmission network project construction scheme.Combined with the kaifeng radio and television networks company's actual business requirements, to study MSTP technology to achieve more businesses carrying specific application scheme, and to give respectively successful application of cases in kaifeng radio and television networks,direct at TDM business,Ethernet Private LAN,Ethernet Private Line several special type businesses.MSTP metro optical transmission network in radio and television networks of applications, solves well the radio and television networks's lots of problems, to ascent Radio and television network operators's competitiveness, at the same time brings good market economic benefits. In the end, the essay summaries and examines outlook of the applications and technical development direction of MSTP technology in radio and television networks.
