Sensor Network Topology Management Techniques For Study

For self-organized wireless sensor network, efficient network topology can improve the efficiency of route protocol and MAC protocol, and can be the foundation of data aggregation, time synchronization and object localization etc. It is useful for keeping the lifetime of the whole network. It is necessary to design a new topology management method which is fitted to sensor network and to application oriented, because the traditional methods is at the stage of theory and experiment.In this paper, three algorithms is presented for the three stages of topology management. They are topology establishing based on position and energy information of nodes, topology maintenance based on gained topology information and clustering rebuilding based on the cost of energy and communication. At the end of this paper, a property system which is called WSTC is realized.It is showed by the experiment result that the three algorithms can save the nodes' energy and prolong the lifetime of network.
