Design And Implementation Of Software Defect Management System

As the increase of the scale and the complexity of the software under development, the workload of testing and defect debugging is also increased heavier. The part of testing and defect debugging workload is growing rapidly in the whole software development field. With this trend, the efficiency of defect debugging is becoming the key point of the whole software development. On the other hand, software architecture and software development team organization chart became more and more complex during the complicated software system. Sometimes only one defect fixing might involve many software developers and related teams, so it is difficult to improve efficiency of defect debugging. Obviously, the original defect debugging management system can't achieve the requirement. Researching new management methodology, technology, and tools to support software defect management process and improve the efficiency is becoming the software engineering hotspot.This thesis works on how to introduce the thoughts of software engineering in defect debugging management to improve defect management efficiency. According to the software engineering, defect management's efficiency improved chiefly from the process layer and tools layer's tools ameliorating. The defect management flow is created by process ameliorating which fitted developing software characteristic and enterprise organization chat. And the bug management tool, BMS (Bug Managing system), design in the article, was developed according to the new defect management flow. BMS system provides defect data analysis function, which does not only improved defect management's efficiency, but also provide the data analysis evidence for software developing process improving.
