With the rapid development of computer technology, software applications have been spread. The software scale and cost have been increased gradually, the complicated degree of software design increases continuously and the opportunity that appearing mistakes or bugs in the software development process have been increased. At the same time, the market has strengthens gradually to the cognition of the software quantity importance. So, as a part of the software life cycle, the importance of bug management is increasingly outstanding in the software itempractice process, and it is an important means to guarantee the software quantity.This paper based from the basic concept of software-testing, pointed out the fundamental purpose of software-testing is to improve software quality. Imported software-testing data flow diagram and implementation mechanisms, introduced two basic methods of software-testing: White Box and Black Box Testing, and its comparisons. Then gave the software-testing process to be followed: Unit Test—Holistic Test-Confirmation Test-System Test, analyzed each of the main points of the process and methods of and to clarify their respective advantages and disadvantages.Subsequently, gave more in-depth exposition of how to analyses software defects in clear of software defect classification, Characteristics and causes on the basis. Introduced how to collect software defects with the process of running and developing how to make information classification and summary statistics and how to calculate analytical indicators, and compile analytical reports, and so on.Finally, introduced a software defect exclude effectiveness model (including a defect source / found place matrix) and combined it with Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), which was able to make the priority ranking of software defects excluding, in order to determine what is an urgent defects need to remove, which can be excluded from a later date. At last, gave an example and proved the effectiveness of the model. Consider that the model can be used to be reference to measure the importance of defects in one or more phases for software testing staff and software quality measurement staff for certain, thereby saving the cost of software development.
