With the rapid development of communication technology in the civil and army area, Receiver/transmitter is widely used in microwave and millimeter wave radars and communication systems. Nowadays, The microwave band is so crowd that it cannot satisfy the need of modern electronic system. For the operating frequencies of modern radars and guidance,electronic countermeasure system,communication system,remote sense and remote measurement system expand to millimeter band step by step, the operating frequencies of T/R module raise ceaselessly. Simultaneity millimeter wave T/R module which has the advantages of small dimension, lightweight, wide band is more suitable to the requirement of modern army and communication system. This paper is mainly referred to the research of T/R module in Ka band.First in this paper is an introduction of the significant of T/R module research and the background and development of millimeter wave T/R module in our country and foreign. Then introduced the basic theory of microstrip, coupling microstrip.Chapter 3 introduces the design and development of waveguide to microstrip transitions designed by time domain difference arithmetic adopted microstrip probe, coaxial probe, finline. then test of them and gain good performance.Chapter 4 is about the design and development of filters and power divider. The theory and design methods of filters and Wilkinson power divider are introduced particularly, and a low pass microstrip filter, two kinds of bandpass filters and an eight sections waveguide filter and a Wilkinson power divider are developed .Chapter 5 is about the design of millimeter wave solid circuit included frequency multiplier, low noise amplifier, medium power amplifier, mixer, IF amplifier Lastly, based on the work above, a millimeter wave T/R module is developed and the analysis of the result is also introduced.
