This paper introduces the state-of-the-art and development trend of DVR (Digital Video Recorder), proposes a particular design blue print of an embedded DVR system based on embedded processor and DSP and discusses the hardware design of the system in detail.After the analysis of the features of IDT RC32438 embedded processor and ADI Blackfin 561 DSP, this paper establishes the overall design framework of the system and expounds the contents of system schematic design, PCB simulation design and system debug.Chapter 1 depicts the background of digital video recorder, and briefly introduces the basic concept and characteristic of embedded system, DSP and EDA tool. Then it put forward the target of this project.Chapter 2 provides the hardware overall design of embedded DVR, and introduces the characteristics of RC32438 processor and ADI Blackfin 561 DSP.Chapter 3 discusses the concrete implement of embedded DVR system, including analog signal processing, chips choosing and circuit design, etc.Chapter 4 stresses the content of PCB design with signal simulation tools and the procedure of system debug.Chapter 5 summarizes the overall design of the system, and describes the perspective of development and application of embedded DVR.
