Since the concept of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) was put forward by the famous IT company Gartner Group, more and more enterprises realized the importance of it. ERP links all departments of enterprises by making use of information technology, including finance, produce, selling, human resource and so on. The function of ERP is to display the useful information through the network and let different managers get correlative messages easily by their own usernames and passwords. With the help of ERP, the company could avoid unnecessary resource waste both in materials and personnel and the high level superintendents could make proper decisions according to the accurate information. It is imperative for enterprises to enhance their market competition ability and strain capacity through implementing the ERP system. Therefore, Bohai Piston Limited Liability Company of Binzhou has been carried out the ERP system since the end of 2003.In this thesis the writer offered a summary of ERP and its subsystem—inventory management's principles, technique , application and current demand systems first and then took implementation of ERP project in Bohai Piston Limited Liability Company of Binzhou as the example, discussed the whole plans of ERP system and the implementation of its subsystem — inventory management. According to the overall requirement of implementation, the writer programmed the ERP system's function construction. In this construction, the writer suggested that ERP system should be used through the entire system with the operation flow;it should fully manifest the integrated pattern;it should be synergetic between the procedure of realization and applications of modularization to produce part of software. In this thesis, the writer also arranged the operation flow , designed the system function module, and confirmed that system networkshould use B/S and the C/S mix connection structure.In this thesis, the application of subsystem of inventory management is the most important part. The writer carried out an need analysis to the inventory management first, then determined the system principle of design, and then designed the inventory management database table structure and planned the service flow of the subsystem. The writer studied and designed the system function of it, established the storehouse foundation parameter, designed the detailed storehouse service flow and the operation contact surface.
