The combination of network technology, computer technology and measurement technology has produced networked instruments. This represents the future direction of instrument development and is another revolution in instrument development history.This paper firstly introduces virtual instrument technology and the network technology relating with networked virtual instrument system. On the foundation of those introductions, we designed two sets of scheme to remotely detect water content in oil product, which are used in different environments.We use a Radio frequency capacitance as sensor to detect water content in oil product. Because the temperature of oil product has the influence of cross sensitivity for water content, it also must be measured. The water content voltage and temperature voltage measured are handled using curved surface fitting multi-sensor information fusion technology. This method raise measure precision and systematic temperature stabilityThe first set of remote detection scheme is to use the TCP module in Labview to found the testing system of the pattern of C/S. Server mainly takes charge the collection and issuance of data. It support multi-client to visit. Client program is user's interface with measurement system when user begins remote measurement. It deals with passed data using information fusion technology. In system user certification part was also designed considering safety.The second set scheme is to use DataSocket technology to establish the testing system of the pattern of B/S. This scheme need not to design special Client program, in which general explorer can be as Client program to carry out remote measurement. Server program is design major in system. This kind of scheme is convenient in use and is easy upgraded. The established two sets of system have also reached the goal of the remote detection of real time.
