The technology of state monitoring and fault diagnosis of equipment has made great progress in the native and abroad recently, which plays an important role in guaranteeing the equipments to be stable, long-term and safe running. However, with the development of modern science and technology, the equipments tend to be larger, faster as well as more automatic, and complex which makes on the one hand the technology of state monitoring and fault diagnosis more important, on the other hand the technology become more specialized and harder to master. This also restricts the development of this technology.Remote state monitoring and fault diagnosis technology , is not only the integration of network technology, computer technology, signal analysis and fault diagnosis technology, but also the result of production requirement and development of science and technology. Making full use of this technology can process online sampling data, diagnose via network, eliminate malfunction and realize experts' consultation and so on. So it is very significant to the development of machinery and national economy.First of all, the function demand of remote signal analysis and fault diagnosis system is analyzed. Secondly the architecture and general design of this system are investigated. Then a detail comparison is made between Browser/Server and Client/Server, and the Client/Server structure is selected as the system architecture. Furthermore, through the analysis and comparison, the software platform of server is constructed based on Windows 2000 Server and SQL Server 2000, and LabWindows/CVI is selected as the main developing tools of the system.The system adopts time-domain, frequency-domain and time-frequency-domain analytic method. Emphasis is focused on the wavelet analysis and how to apply it to noise reduction and pickup of characteristic signal. As a result, remote signal analysis and fault diagnosis platform based on Internet has been developed to meet the need of remote consumers.
