This graduation thesis is mainly about the technology of high resolution tiled display wall based on PC cluster, including the construction of the cluster, system administration, geometry calibration, color calibration, and finally the demo, application and foreground.Here, we present a new method of geometric calibration on a tiled display wall by using multiple mapping matrices, which is different from the previous algorithm. For each projector, multiple matrices are computed to map each pixel on the projected screen to the frame buffer. The method is going as follows: first, display feature points for each projector alternatively. Second we take photos for each projector to record the feature points. Third, the calibration algorithm is performed to recognize the feature points on the photos, and compute the mapping matrices and the effective projection regions. Finally the mapping matrices are used to produce the calibration grid, which will be applied to the display with alpha blending if necessary.In the end, we will show our calibration results via some demostrations, including a high resolution picture viewer, 3D rendering system and a high resolution video player.
