Large format high-resolution display systems are becoming increasingly important for scientific visualization, industrial design, virtual manufacturing, and military simulation. Common systems, such as large display wall or high quality projector are extremely expensive. The Multi-projector High-definition screen automatic calibration technology is a popular approach, which can build seamless, high-resolution display. In order to seamless concatenate the projects, the system can automatically adjust the projects output, with the help of camera. There are two key technologies: geometry calibration and color calibration. We put forward a new geometry calibration approach, which can be used in many display surfaces. The approach uses a common digital screenshot of the display screen to build the geometry relationship between projected image and captured image. Then, adjust the projected image to a standard position and store the geometry relationship in a table. In order to seamless concatenate, we calibrate in real time render. We also put forward a new color calibration approach. At first, we capture the projects color vary curve, and then adjust the color curve to the standard curve. We store this relationship in a table, which will be used in real time render. So we solve the color problem. Based the geometry calibration result, we define an overlap region, in which the points have intensity coefficient. The overlap region color value was decided by the real color value and the intensity coefficient. Our multi-projects high-definition screen automatic calibration technology was used in many commercial systems and it works fine. We believe our approach will be widely used for its automation, convenience and low-cost.
