With the widely application of the computer and the development of information technology, the research on the hospital information system(HIS) has become an important way to improve the medical environment, medical levels and administrative levels. As the basic component of the HIS, the electrical medical record(EMR) stores all the medical information, including images and texts, and makes them used more effectively. It plays important role in medical, research, education and hospital management.The properties and development of foreign and domestic electrical medical record are introduced in this paper. Considering the situation of the neutron knife treatment center, this paper develops the electrical medical record information system with the function of medical record management, follow-up results management and image processing. The oriented object modeling language UML(Unified Modeling Language) has been used in the system analysis and design. The system is divided into five parts: medical record management, follow-up results management, image processing, user management and searching. The image management subsystem includes image input and image processing. The way images input from image input devices which support TWAIN standard interface is described. Image processing, with gray processing and image inverse processing, provides great help for doctors to judge the ill quickly and precisely.In the end, the whole system is reviewed and the direction of the advanced research of this system is given.
