Shandong Provincial Library Development History Dynasty

Shandong library was established in 1909(the first year of Xuantong, Qing Dynasty). It is one of the ten earliest provincial public libraries that are comprehensive ones. As a collection & spreading center of Shandong local documents, with near one hundred years' history, Shandong library has become into a modernized library, which has advanced functions and comprehensive service. This essay summarizes and reviews the hundred years of developing history by collecting & excavating historical materials, especially the documents and it also refers to the research achievements of predecessors in order to have a new understanding of Shandong library's development.On the research of developing history of Chinese library career, the predecessors paid more attention to the history of an individual library in a certain period. However, the essay has a system research on the recent one hundred years' development of Shandong library, summarizes its developing process, analyses the background of the development, explores the historical regularities of Chinese library career and the related factors which influences the development of library career.
