The Charge Coupled Device (CCD) is a device of the formation of image of semiconductor, which can shift, store, transmit and deal with the picture of the scenery in the form of photoelectric signal with the aid of the essential optical system and suitable driving circuit. In the past 20 years, the CCD technology applies military and civil fields widely. The applications of measuring and monitoring are more and more popular especially with the improvement of the industrial automation and need of the industry condition.In this paper, the high-accuracy measurement of small size interval and diameter is discussed with the linear CCD-TCC1206.The composition of optics subsystem and the solutions to deal with the output signal of CCD are confirmed through the analyses of the linear CCD measuring system.Two solutions: the hardware counting method based on single-chip computer and the software method based on data collecting are applied to calibrate and measure the interval and diameter. The output signal of CCD is binary in the first method, and the multinomial least square method and RBF neural network are applied to fit the collected data in the second method in order to make the measuring edge sure. The tests of measuring the interval and diameter indicate that the measurement solutions with the linear CCD have some advantages of high-accuracy; non-contact comparing with the traditional measurement method.CCD, as the industrial sensor of measuring and monitoring, has very wide application prospects.
