Evolution, Based On Agile Software Process

Software processes are the standards and rules of software organizations for software development. Actually, these ensure software development can go in accordant and iterative mode and establish the basis of fix quantify software process evolution after that. Software organization should build an effective software engineering and management basic establishments to achieve software products' iteration and advance software development ability. Mostly companies use traditional methods as RUP, CMM, but what about agile methods? It is disputed that which one is better about traditional method and agile method. Based on this, the research advanced the ASPE methods, combines agile methods with traditional methods, and advocate traditional methods and agile should be used together, and should make our choice according to enterprises' and projects' characteristics. The paper mainly described how and when to use agile method, and applied RUP CMM and the most popular light software development method of agile methods - XP to the research.The research based on tools development of Nokia, combines agile methods with traditional methods, that is ASPE methods. Two tools (AP, RM) is developed and used to track projects and resource management. The research proves that ASPE method not only ensured the software quality but also improved project processes.There are five chapters: Chapter 1 introduced the background of the research. Chapter 2 gave the definition of software process and software process evolution, and gave some models and tools of traditional methods and agile methods. Chapter 3 brought forward the ASPE method, and developed two tools AP and RM to support the methodology. Chapter 4 mainly described ASPE used in the projects. Chapter 5 summarized the ASPE methods and tools advantages and defects.
