Bluetooth is a short-range radio link intended to replace the cable(s) connecting portable and/or fixed electronic devices. Key features are robustness, low complexity, low power, and low cost. Bluetooth operates in the unlicensed ISM band at 2.4 GHz. A frequency hop transceiver is applied to combat interference and fading. Because of the complication of the developing Bluetooth, this thesis puts forward a simpler design to realize a point-to-point connection (only two Bluetooth units involved) the transmission based on the techniques of the Bluetooth. Combined on the realization of the design, further we talk about the conjunction of the PAN and the network of GPRS.This thesis elaborates emphatically the solution to the physical layer of the Bluetooth module after analyzing the theories of Bluetooth technique. Considering of the high frequency and anti-jamming, we decide to select the two-chips system to design the hardware module. The radio frequency part is mostly made of nRF2401 chip. nRF2401 is a single-chip radio transceiver for the world wide 2.4 - 2.5 GHz ISM band. The transceiver consists of a fully integrated frequency synthesizer, a power amplifier, a crystal oscillator and a modulator. The nRF2401 has no complicated correspondence agreement different from the Bluetooth chip. Atmegal28L chip is selected as a MCU to control the communication of the base band. In addition, a USB100 chip completes the connection the module to PC.Founded on realization of Bluetooth module on the physical layer, and combined with the GPRS techniques and the development of the key technique-IP, further the solution is carried out to connect the PAN to the network of GPRS.
