Communication To The Horizon In China Blog Phenomenon

Blog, a new type of network communication pattern spreads out over the world around the year of 2000. Initiated abroad in the circle of the technical elites, Blog expands outward, spontaneously firstly and consciously thereafter. The big events such as the "9 ? 11 "and the Iraq War make it known to all and grow with wide scope. The development of the Blog in China, almost without spontaneity and five years behind the abroad, is more like a campaign of popularization of science, which is originated in the West and then introduced into China. The Blog in China so far has experienced four periods, the exploration, the promotion, the explosion and the generalization.By reviewing Blog in the scope of communication, the thoughts are put forward in this thesis that when Blog begins to take shape and when the individuals can speak out to the world quickly and easily, this new form of communication does bring new patterns and measures into China, and then functions positively in nearly every aspect including the communication configuration and the communication effects. Meanwhile, the argument of the "Technological Determinism" is criticized in this thesis. By listing the communication obstacles of digital knowledge gap, information pollution, network infringement etc, which come up against the practice of Chinese Blog, conclusions are finally drawn from the view of cultural inner core, communication pattern, social system and so on:1. The Blog is not only a certain technical tool with communication functions, but also a place of symbolization, expression and mediation.2. The social, economic and cultural factors lay a variety of presets in the developing process of Blog.3. With its own tension, Blog satisfies and complies with the social requirements, as well as stipulates and restricts people how to think and to behave, where after works on the society, positively or negatively.4. How long Blog can be prevalent in China depends on the balance between the power of this communication technology and its social effects.
