The goal of modern smart home is to improve the quality of home life using modern electronic technology, communication technology, computer & network technology, automatization technology, and make home life become comfortable, safe and full of happiness. Smart home network is improved with the development of micro-electronic technology, modern communication technology and wiring standards. It related to the operation and management of all of devices within the home. Now, Internet technology goes deeply to the every aspect of human life. It is a important development orientation of modern smart home to connect every kinds of home device and operate each device by Internet. On the one hand, the uniform operation interface of Internet makes every device at home easy to use. On the other hand, Masters feel safe when they go out of home by the way of accessing the home by Internet.The architecture of traditional smart home network is multi-bus and multi-protocol one. If connect together, they must proceed many protocol translation and they are not convenient and difficult to operate. It is a thesis worthwhile to study to use uniform, good maintainability, popular network architecture to build smart home network. Ethernet is widely used in modern office network, which make it have the advantages in cost, technological support, maneuverability, maintainability and the convenience of software development and other kinds of network cannot be parallel to. On the other hand, with the development of the development technology of modern embedded system, it is very simple way to embed an Ethernet controller to an embedded device. Some kinds of embedded controller have even integrated an on-chip Ethernet controller. And with the augment of integration degree of modern embedded storage chip, the reduction of price and the increase of the ratio of performance and price for high performance embedded processor, it is a simple problem to transplant or program a small type of TCP/IP protocol to a small type of embedded device. So it is a good research orientation to use Ethernet technology to build smart home network. If succeeded, the smart home network can be built in the same physical network, which makes it very convenient and flexible to build network, easy to program, ultimately realize seamless connect to Internet, and avoidmany troublesome multi-protocol translation problems.In smart home system, the embedded gateway plays an important role. It is, on the one hand, a window of smart home and Internet interface. On the other hand, it is responsible for the explaination of user commands, and it can send command to correspondent device. At the same it can accept the status and data information etc. sent from the devices. The operation of every kinds of devices at home is sent by the form of Web page to the remote user by remote server. The remote users can change the parameter and status by the form of CGI(Common Gateway Interface). The wireless control module takes responsible for receiving every kinds of command signal of remote controller and explaining it to corresponding command to control the home devices.The article takes the building of smart home system network as a goal, researching the main architecture of the smart home with Ethernet. And takes control and manage the smart terminal wireless remote control. The main research contents are the object oriented requirement analysis of smart home network, the design and implementation of embedded system network bottom driver, the transplant of TCP/IP protocol etc. And afterwards proceed part of functional test.
