The technology of power management is playing an important role with strict technological requirements, high power consumption, mass supplied mediums and high stability in processing of cigarette tows in Kunming Cellulose Fibers Co. Ltd(KCFC). The operators mainly monitor power processing by conventional instrument board before 2004.But there are some problems in using this method such as separation of equipment, lagging of monitoring model, blind spots of abnormal parameter and so on. Hence, it cannot realize the system integrated control and high efficiency, and even results equipment failure and accidents.This paper analysis development and status of worldwide computer monitoring system by considering with characteristics of power processing. In order to reform and optimize the system performances in second extension project, this paper studies previously the monitoring system of power processing based on original instruments. The goal is to gain efficient and safe system performances with least inputs by taking advantages of original hardware resource.The study and development of The Real-time Monitoring System of Power Processing reveals active actions in the presence of optimization of process, saving energy, increase of product qualities, and decrease of production costs and improvement of information management level. So, it shows a special actual meaning.The object of study is technological system of power processing. According to the problems of the system, the paper includes three works as follows:1. The study on development, status and application of computer monitoring system within our country and abroad.2. The collectivity design of Monitoring System of Power Processing.3. The software development and realizing of Monitoring System of Power Processing based on MATLAB.The paper expatiate the technical principle of power processing, the basic requirement of monitoring system, the network structure, the hardware configuration, the function and realized method of monitoring software and so on. The system adopt the network communicated construction combine with Client / Server and Browser /Server by the ground of Windows 2000 platform and used Profibus(Process Fieldbus) technology and TCP/IP protocol to resolve the connection problem between industrial control system and Intranet in the enterprise. The system reached at such function for six systems which can monitor interface, automatic alarm, communicate between operator and equipment and inquire data. The improved power processing system not only resolve the initial problems to ensure the safety, reliability and stability of the system, but offer accuracy, reliable and integrated data analysis for reasonable control or manage equipments. These works make the system reach at first-rank economic state and bring to long-term economic benefits for the enterprise. But because of the personal reasons in terms of time and energy, the study is lack in DAS(Data Acquisition Station) and DBMS(Database Management System). We expect to improve the system performances in the future.
