Portable digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) is a new development of normalDSO, which includes all the basic functions of the latter. moreover, as other portableinstruments, it has such characteristics as small,light,easy to carry and low power,etc.In this dissertation, A software design project of portable DSO based on SOPCis represented. A soft CPU named NIOS is the controlling core by embedded into aCyclone FPGA. And the other programmable logical resources make up of theperipherically digital controlling circuit, which provides fast data FIFO, triggercontrolling, LCD display controlling, frequency-cycle measuring, and so on.The dissertation Firstly discusses the working principle, hardware, software flatand the software on the HAL and the UTIL layers. Secondly, it particularly studiesrebuilding wave, calculating wave parameters, GUI, scanning key assignments,automatically and manually measuring. And analyses the issues we met and give thesolving ways. Lastly, the testing process is described and the testing result is showed.The emphases of the dissertation is how to design and realize GUI and the keysoftware modules on the application layer, as well as the study of wave rebuildingarithmetic and frequency-cycle measuring arithmetic, and how to realize them in thissystem.The application software this dissertation provides can work with the hardwareand the software on the other layers, they carry out different functions of portableDSO,such as double channels, 320×240 LCD displaying, sampling rate at 100MHz,4KB memory length, 8bit/S uprightly distinguish, auto measuring, two work modes,three trig modes, can measure period, frequency and apex-apex value, etc. Small chip,easy to program, high speed and stability are achieved by SOPC techonology. It willbe widely used in portable instrument exploitation. This dissertation gives a goodexample to other embedded system designers.
