The Scopemeter in this project is a hand-hold instrument which can work absolutely. It is the new-style universal instrument and it synthesizes functions of the Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Digital Multimeter, and Cymometer. The paper puts forward a kind of software design method of intelligent instrument and the system software of the Digital Storage Scopemeter(DSS) designed based on this method . With the development of the electronic measuring technology, measuring technology is geared to automated, intelligent and network directions. Digital storage scopemeter is widely used in various fields the important measuring apparatus. We use DSP(TMS320VC5416) as the core of the project, and the EDA tool is CCS, the program tool of TI. The main function of the software is to manage and control the periphery circuit, deal with the data of waveform . The TMS320VC5416 fixed-point, digital signal processor (DSP) is based on an advanced modified Harvard architecture that has one program memory bus and three data memory buses. This processor provides an arithmetic logic unit (ALU) with a high degree of parallelism, application-specific hardware logic, on-chip memory, and additional on-chip peripherals. The basis of the operational flexibility and speed of this DSP is a highly specialized instruction set. The software is write with C and DSP assemble language for readability and quick speed. The modularization programming method applied in this paper is to divide the whole task to some small independent modules which have the clearly definition of the entrance and exit and accomplish the single intention. The whole task is decomposed 'from top to bottom'to some certain modules firstly and then the certain modules are programmed from the most smallest part by the 'from bottom to top'method,after the completion of the debugging the more small part are programmed and in the end the top part are .
