Digital storage oscilloscope as the important measuring apparatus is widely used in various fields. Compared with analog oscilloscope, it has so lots of advantages that it is a tendency that it will substitute analog oscilloscope gradually. Now the technology of digital storage oscilloscope is more advanced overseas, and occupies the great majority of market. So it is indispensable to develop digital storage oscilloscope ourselves.This paper puts foward a novel software design method that is used of intelligent instrument, emphasize in compile method of menu interface. In this design, the hardware core is the DSP(TMS320VC5416) of TI company. And the EDA(Empolder Development Entironment) tool is CCS, the program tool of TI. The software is write with C and DSP assemble language.This paper has introduced emphasize in the initialization of system, The module of display, and the module of data processing. The initialization of system includs initialization of DSP, initialization of DSO parameter and admeasure of chip storage space. The module of data processing includs not only measure method of general, but also adopts combine of Hardware and software method, and through cursor choice and move to measure the parameter what we wanted. we adopts combine of Hardware and software method to measure frequence. The module of data processing includs display principle of character, cursor display and boot-strap menu display, emphasizes in software compile method of interface menu.
