With the development of the technology of embedded micro control and fieldbus, the process control of modern train has developed from concentrated directdigital control system to distributed control system which base on network.IEC-61375—Train Communication Network(TCN) Standard is IEC associate withUIC adopted a standard for standardizing the communication of device data on train,TCN is divided into train level communication network --WTB which is used forconnecting each dynamically organized vehicle and vehicle level communicationnetwork –MVB which is used for connecting fix devices in vehicle. MVB whichbased on contributed control is part of IEC61375-1(1999)TCN, together with WTBhas strong time-critical characteristic and high reliability.MVB supplies redundance at the physical layer level; Uses reliable Manchestercoding and CRC check coding; Supplies two type of data according to differenttime-critical needs. MVBC(Multiple Vehicle Bus Controller) is the fresh generationcore processor, it is independent of the physical layer level and functional device, itsupplies every device with the communication interface and communication service,it is the most advanced MVB controller.This paper introduces TCN(Train Communication Network) and MVB in brief,on the basis of which it analyses the function and benefit of MVBC; it discusses thedesign idea and design methodology of every module of MVBC according to thefunction requirement in detail.In the part of top level verification, due to MVBC's complexity, we adopt theway of correlative modules grouping and adopt many delicate strategies, and test thefunction and timing of the MVBC system or a part.This design adopts Top-down EDA design flow. Circuit design adopts Verilogcoding description. The simulation tool is VCS of Synopsys Inc, the synthesis tooland programming tool are the ISE 6.1 of Xilinx Inc. This design is passed through theFPGA test of board level at present.
