With the development of the computer technology and the high-powered microprocessor and high-speed computer network coming, it has turned to be an easy thing to connect computer system consisting of a large number of CPU by high-speed network. Network job management system is a kind of middle software that founds upon the operating system, and manages the workstations or PCs of the cluster. JMS is an integrated job management system based on cluster, and it is not only characteristiced with distributed, resource shared and load balanced, but also with good operability, good reliability and good expansibility. The thesis is part of an international cooperation project developed by Northwestern Polytechnical University Software Engineering Center. In the thesis, the author discusses some topic about JMS in detail included in the software architecture, job network, job schedule and its Communication between the client and server. The thesis covers the following aspects:1) On the base of Review the history of job management system development, it fully analyzes the architecture of Job Management System, and every composing portion in frame structure is described in detail.2) A centralized-control scheduling mechanism is expatiated and a two -stage-scheduling model is brought forward; this scheduling mechanism is used to provide transparent access to all users. All the distributed heterogeneous hardware and software computing resources are presented as a seamless and single system image.3) A professional communication agent (ComAgent) is designed in the project. The. In the ComAgent, the author designs a protocol that is for the serial and deserial.4) Discusses the design of JMS's client; design the mechanism of JMS's visual JNW (Job NetWork), and design an algorithm which checkes the validity of a Job Newwork with a sub Job Newwork.
