Research And Implementation Of Software Schedule Management Model Based On RUP Process

Software project schedule management is crucial to the success of a software project, and it is a main part of software project management. As a software development process, which includes the best practice of software development, RUP is accepted by more and more software companies. Most of the core ideas and development styles of RUP will have effects on the software project schedule management. So it is necessary to change the manner and method of schedule management, make it adjust to the characteristics of RUP and more efficient in the RUP process.This paper introduces the basic theory of the software project schedule management and RUP. It analyzes the effect that RUP can make on the software project schedule management. Research is conducted on the software project schedule management based on RUP. In order to adapt the RUP develop process, the paper discusses the improvement in the definition, the compositor, and the period estimation of activity, schedule plan and schedule control in the project schedule management. On the basis of the research about the effect on the schedule management from the two points of the two dimension structure of RUP, this paper generalizes the method of schedule management which is based on RUP, and puts forward a software project schedule management model based on RUP. And step further in valuing the quality of each dimension in the model, the paper discusses the mathematic relationship among each dimension and the realistic meanings of the model. Finally, according to the design principle that using RUP in a light way and make it adapt the small software companies' demand. This paper does the designment of the software project schedule management system and develops some important modules of the system based on the theory research.The software project schedule management model based on RUP which discussed in this paper represents the traits of the software project schedule management in the RUP process. The schedule state of software project can be reflected by the model, so itis a useful tool to provide some intuitionistic information for making iteration plan and controlling the schedule.The software project schedule management model based on RUP and the software project schedule management system which is designed and realized on a basis of it are practical and effective theory and instrument which can be used in the RUP process to help the schedule management. It is useful for the software development organizations, especially for those medium and small organizations.
