The remote experimental teaching over Internet is of an important developingdirection of education modernization as well as a significant content of theexperimental teaching reformation in colleges and universities. Supported by theteaching reformation project of higher education in the new century authorized by theEduaction Ministry, the research of this dissertation has been carried out with thedesign and implementation of a network electronic experimental system (i.e. hardwareexperiments) fit for remote teaching.Firstly, a Web based network electronic experimental system is designed andimplemented with a hardware platform of PCI-1200 multifunctional DAQ card and asoftware developing tool of LabVIEW. It shows of convenient usage and easyoperation due to the virtue of the Web browser bound in Windows operating system.However, the transferring efficiency and functionality of the system are difficult tosatisfy all requirements in remote experimental teaching by reason of the limitation ofWeb technology. Moreover, it is difficult to handle concurrent operations of multipleusers in remote experimental teaching due to the limitation of LabVIEW.Secondly, a Client/Server based network electronic experimental system isdesigned and realized by network programming with LabVIEW on a combinedhardware platform consisting of PCI-1200 card and the compositive electronicexperimental board developed by our project group. It would be well-satisfying inremote experimental teaching from the viewpoints of both transfering efficiency andfunctionality. Furthermore, enlightened from hot line, a multi-user scheme based onthe hotline access mode, which performs well in handling concurrent operations ofmultiple users in remote experimental teaching, is proposed in terms of thecharacteristic of electronic experiments. Compared with the queue mode, the hotlinemode is demonstrated to be feasible and of higher efficiency and easier programming.At present, there have been good applications of this system in the teaching practiceand National Excellence Course.And then, for the sake of students'convenience of observing the experimentalsystem, to take a real sense on the spot and eliminate the feeling brought by distanceand falsity in remote teaching, the following research in this dissertation inevitablysteps into the field of network video transferring.
