Network Storage System

The development of computer and network technology brings more and more demand for storage, SAN(Storage Area Network) is just the new technology that meet the demand. A lot of oversea corporations have given many researches on SAN and some commercial product has been developed. However, the research on this field is very few in China and there is no any relative product. For this reason, I researched the SAN in detail and developed a SAN based cross-platform network storage sharing system. The following are my main achievements:First I introduced the concept, characteristic and application of SAN, and gave a detailed analyze of some important technologies in SAN, such as fiber channel and RAID.Then I develop a new cross-platform network storage sharing system base on the SAN technology. The cross-platform network storage sharing system connects the mainframe computers ,RAID and open system by SAN, gives the ability of sharing the storage between different operating systems.Moreover, I developed some advanced function on the base of the cross-platform network storage sharing system ,such as multi-volume files function and universal backup and restore system, and put forward some new technologies to assure the high reliability of the system.
