Replication and restoration manager is key component of SAN storage resource management system, which is used to replicate data, restore data, and its collaboration monitor module can monitor the architecture changing of sortage subsystem as well as status changing, therefore to ensure data security and data consistant in storage subsystem.The primary work of this paper includes constructing the frame of the replicate and restore system, communication proxy between status monitor module and storage subsystem as well as the interface of client commutation proxy in the collaboration storage resource management system. In addition, it designs and realizes the data replicate function and atomic break replicate function for large database. And in it, performance can be optimized using dynamic share memory technology and message queue control mechanism. All of above are the whole design of replicate and restore system module. During the research and development of this system, the author achieves as follows:1. Do research on the main function and module division of the storage management system software, especially in the relationship between the replicate, restore manage and the whole storage management system.2. Analyze and design the atom replicate function for large database backup.3. Design the priority message queue mechanism and optimize the performance at the same time.4. Analyze the share memory technology of IPC and show the problems using in this system. Instead, provide a new sharing memory technology combining dynamic and static. The new one can reduce the system overload and optimize the performance.5. Analyze the new storage technique (snapshot technique).The system is implemented in ANSI C, according with POSIX specification. After the source code is compiled in each platform. it can be used in Windows, Solaris and Linux platform.
