Design And Implementation Of SAN-Based Storage Replication Server

Recent years the rapid development of computer network results in more and more information being digitalized. The traditional storage system has lost the ability to satisfy enterprises' needs for high reliability, good expandability and security. Accordingly, SAN (Storage Area Network) appears as a new network storage concept. SAN brings new requirement for the corresponding software. As to this kind of software, Replication/Restore module is one of the most important components in storage management system.During the past one year, the author took part in a SAN-based storage management project and worked on the Replication/Restore module. The author spent much time on the techniques and problems of the system. At the same time, based on summarizing the existing methods for storage implementation, he put forward a new idea and discussed the future of network storage.Firstly, the author introduced SAN briefly and explained the whole structure design of the SAN-based management system. Then he introduced the basic Replication module detailedly. Finally, it introduced some new technologies implemented on the enforced Replication module and put forward a new concept and discussed the future of network storage.
