For The Simulation Of The Workflow Model And Its Key Technologies

Nowadays, there is no enough attention to workflow simulation in workflow research. This dissertation introduces a simulation-oriented workflow model. The model satisfies needs of workflow simulation by importing correlative information into workflow model. Then the paper introduces performance evaluation index of workflow simulation, several key technology in workflow simulation and architecture of workflow simulation system.In the 1st chapter, we introduce workflow and workflow simulation briefly to make readers understand the development and application of workflow and some relevant concepts. We also explain the background of workflow simulation and summarize its definition and purpose. Then, we give a survey of current research about workflow simulation.In the 2nd chapter, we bring forward simulation-oriented workflow model according with XPDL. The model consists of kernel model and supporting model. The supporting model constitutes simulation environment for kernel model. Then, we introduce submodels in detail. These submodels provide information for workflow simulation so as to satisfy the need of simulation and lay a model foundation for the implement of workflow simulation system.In the 3rd chapter, we summarize the performance evaluation index of workflow simulation and lay emphasis on time and cost. Take the two indexes for instance; we discuss the basic principle and overall evaluation method of the simulation performance evaluation.In the 4th chapter, we dissertate several key technologies in workflow simulation. Comparing discrete event simulation and system dynamics simulation, we make the conclusion that the appropriate simulation mode for workflow model is mixed simulation. Then, we import composing number and clone activity to implement simulation schedule algorithm. We solve the uncertainty in simulation by importing rule database and random variable. Finally, we present workflow simulation algorithm.In the 5th chapter, we propose the architecture of workflow simulation system based on the simulation-oriented workflow model. Then, a simulation process is putted forward. Last, we give a "Software Development Process" case to explain the simulation process.In the end, all of the works in this dissertation are summed up, and their futures are prospected.
