The exiting source and local oscillator play an important role in radar system. Attempting to get a high product of time-bandwidth and frequency-bandwidth, modern radar system import the technology of FM and PM in the pulse which make the radar signal wave form Plentifully. How to realize the radar signal quickly and accurately with the low power consumption and small volume is the main point when we design a radar signal generator.Accompanied by the development of the DSP technology, direct digital synthesizer (DDS) display its advantage in FM and PM signal generation. It characterize by its high speed, high accurate, and lower power, but its output frequency is low. This paper focuses on this and offers a solution to combine the traditional PLL technology and DDS to synchronize a 60MHz FM signal up to higher 10GHz. It is practical for engineering application.
