Airborne Phased Array Radar Echo Simulator Development

Radar system simulation is an important method used in modern radar system design & verification, which run through the whole development of a radar. This thesis discusses mainly the hardware design and development of a simulator for airborn phase array radar. The long period of the simulator is implemented by SDRAM MODULES used in Personal Computer, the broadband is implemented by D/A with internal double-data-channel switching architecture, and the control is implemented by a single CPLD.The main work in this paper is as follows:1. Have completed the system design of the simulator's hardware.2. Have completed the timing design of the two SDRAM MODULES with VHDL. With switching working style, not only the equal data rate has been achieved, but also the 'refresh' operation to SDRAM MODULES has been completed.3. Have completed the scheme graph and PCB design of the simulator.4. Have completed the hardware's debug of the simulator, giving the testing results of the simulator .
