With modern weapon and modern wingmanship being developed, the higherperformance of the radar, such as action range, resolution, measure precision and so on, arerequired. Pulse compression is one of the most important systems in modern radars. Pulsecompression effectively solves the contradiction between the range resolution and theaverage power of the radar, and is widely applied in modern radars.This paper is mainly concerned about the technology of pulse compression andsidelobe suppression with phase-code signal. First, by the pulse compression, the meritsand implementation of the pulse Compression system are introduced in this paper. Second,the characteristics of phase coded signals are discussed and the three classic binary phasecodes—Barker code, m-sequence and MAC sequence are dealt with in details in thefollowing. Finally, to obtain optimum code selection for sidelobe reduction, the LinearProgramming and the iteratively reweighted least-square mismatched filter design arediscussed. This paper also gives the corresponding simulations and compares their results.Last, the interference and its processing method of multitargets in pulse compression arestudied emphatically, Using sidelobe suppression technology to reduce the seriousinterference of big target of close range in little target of distant range can be restrained.
